The Unified Carrier Registration (UCR) program is a federal regulation that requires individuals and companies that operate commercial motor vehicles in interstate commerce to register and pay an annual fee based on the size of their fleet. It applies to for-hire, private and exempt carriers, freight forwarders, brokers and leasing companies.
If you are based in Nebraska, your UCR fees are automatically apportioned for you to the other states in which you travel. You may download the registration form from the Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles, www.dmv.state.ne.us, apply online at www.ucr.in.gov, or Truck Services can help you with the registration.
